This extraordinary piece of art was created in the New Path and CoS Craft Group. The group was given the challenge to collaborate to create a work of art using a wonderful piece of cardboard that mental health recovery worker Lorinda Slatter came across while setting up the new furniture for the Southside Community Step Up Step Down (SUSD) house.
The group members were inspired to create a galaxy painting, where each person would create a planet to represent themselves in this universe.
Working together quickly with paint, sponges and hand-painted stars, the universe was formed! Interspersed with other projects over many weeks of craft group, workers and participants alike created each piece. It was a joy to see everybody working on this. For every beautiful person, we have a wonderful planet in the sky!
