WCS proudly manages the operations of The Big Issue in the ACT. Becoming a vendor is more than just earning an income, it’s about building confidence, gaining skills and becoming part of a supportive community.

Anyone can become a vendor. We welcome people from all walks of life, including those experiencing homelessness, people with disability, or those who simply find it difficult to access other forms of work. New vendors complete an induction at the Woden Youth Centre, sign a vendor agreement, and are then ready to start selling. Vendors buy each magazine for $4.50 and sell it for $9, keeping the profit. Alongside income, they also have access to ongoing training and support from our Vendor Support staff, who are there to celebrate successes and provide encouragement during tougher times.

If you’re interested in becoming a Big Issue vendor in Canberra, you can visit our team at the Woden Youth Centre, call us on (02) 6181 2801, or email thebigissue@wcs.org.au

The Big Issue in the ACT is proudly supported by the ACT Government, through the Community Services Directorate.
