Libby volunteers at The Little Pantry, our emergency food relief hub, helping to keep the shelves stocked for anyone in need. But her connection to Woden Community Service spans generations.
Libby’s daughter Jess is pictured here (front and centre of the newspaper clipping) at our Multicultural Festival in Garran in 1979. Jess went on to attend WCS Family Day Care, as did her daughter, Thea, and Lollipop Preschool (now Lyons Early Childhood School) before recently moving to an OSHC closer to home.
We’re so grateful to Libby and all our volunteers, past and present, for the time, care, and connection they bring to WCS. Stories like these remind us how deeply our volunteers are woven into the life of our organisation.
As National Volunteer Week approaches, we reflect on the countless stories showing how strongly volunteers shape our community.
Thank you to every person who has given their time, energy and care this week and always. We see you, we value you, and we couldn’t do it without you. #NVW2025
