Volunteer Coordinator Lyndi opened our National Volunteer Week morning tea with this quote from Margaret Mead, a great reflection on the volunteers’ role in shaping WCS.
We currently have nearly 80 volunteers supporting our vital programs across Canberra. This week, we took a moment to thank them. We hosted a small group of volunteers at our Community Hub to share a casual spread, enjoy some music, and show appreciation for the time and energy they give to our organisation.
Our CEO, Dan English, joined us to speak about our beginnings, a service started by volunteers in the late 1960s and thanked today’s volunteers for continuing that legacy of community connection.
To all our volunteers: thank you. We’re so grateful for everything you do.
